I Ride Because
It gets me away from work, my noisy kids and gives me time to recharge before it all starts again, it means i can feel hungry before my meals, and sleep well at night i love it so much i started my own club cumbria42.com
…because it’s healthy,free,fun,liberating,eco friendly,fast,efficient,sexy,cool,stylish,calming,effortless……..:)
I can avoid the tube strikes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYVJSOFZxDE
I ride because I love it
Cycling is the most energy efficient mode of transport I know of, its not just that though. Cycling has provided myself and my partner with a new (to us) option for holidays. I ride because I love it, I ride because it helps me get fitter, I ride because sue (my partner) loves it. says it all really :-D
because it is the best way to explore a country. It also keeps me fit and healthy and is just a damn fun way to get about.
Because of days like this. :) Cycling through Spain.
because i don’t have to drive to the library….or the grocery store…or the chipotle…
obesity struck a young child at the age of 12, and mountain biking became the cure. Now I ride 45 miles a day throughout San Francisco and the Bay Area at tour speeds. I am 16.
I started cycling at the age of 42. Never had a bike before then so had lessons. Now I cycle because it’s freedom, fun, sheer pleasure and keeps me away from public transport.
I like risking my life.
I need/want to go somewhere.
I can shout shout ‘bus wankers’ at people standing at the bus stop
My dad threatened to disown me one time about 20 years ago when I wanted to upgrade my freewheel on my Marin Hawkhill because he said it was a waste of money. Now I can upgrade my freewheel as much as I want… except no, because I don’t have that much money.
I’m making up for never being taught as a kid. I’ve now been riding for 3 years and I’ve never felt more free. I’m 24.
Because chicks dig skinny roadies with no fat, no upper body and a demented obsession with calorific input/output. I hope!
It’s the only fun way to offset the sheer volumes of food I consume
… because I’m lazy! I like being able to arrive at the door of my destination and not have to wait for the bus. I also like to save money and by bike is the cheapest way around. I feel so much happier spending money on bike upgrades than a monthly travel ticket!
…it transforms the mundane. I show up at work healthier and happier and tread lighter, too.
I bike because I love to eat…hahaha, true but so many more reasons as well. Freedom, solitude, fitness, self-powered, Camaraderie and so much more.
I ride simply because it makes me happy. Riding a bike is soooo much fun.
This is why I ride......
My Cathedral is the open expanse of smooth blacktop laid out like a ribbon through the city and back country of San Diego. I pray on an alter of carbon fiber and aluminum. I read from the book of CycleSport and Road Magazine My sacramental wine is has a distinctly lemon-lime taste and comes in 20oz bottles with HAMMER icons emblazoned upon their sides. I suffer the pain of crucifixion on the...
I used to ride my bike for the heck of it. I haven’t ridden for awhile because of an injury, but I REALLY want to bike again! It’s also good for the environment, and I love the environment! :)
It’s the wheel deal
Because it’s the perfect way to get away from everything, keep fit and your body doesn’t take a pounding which is very important at my age!
It’s healthier for me and the environment!
Because I still love the feeling of being able to balance on 2 wheels and I’m 28 :)
I am a born-again biker. I did much riding back in the 80’s and got away from it, then last year at age 62 I decided to get back to it for various reasons. I found that I had forgotten the euphoria of coasting down a hill, that ‘ahhh’ moment when the wind hits your face and you feel at one with the road. I rediscovered that sense of accomplishment when you can sit at the top of...
I ride because I can!! Two years ago I sat in a wheel chair waiting knee replacement surgery due to arthritis so I couldn’t do any thing. Now I can!
I’m not sure why I ride. Don’t really know. But I know that no matter how fast or slow I ride, the troubles I had when I started don’t seem as big as they were when I started.
Because my doctor told me too. I am getting into it though. But not sure about the lycra.
Because it’s time well spent with my husband and little ones and it tires them out. :)
Because that feeling of adrenalin and fear when I hit a steep section is amazing! Love it!
Because I can’t afford a car. Sucks when I go on dates.
Because I’m tired of smelling other people’s armpits during rush hour on the London Underground and we’re FINALLY coming into summer!
Because I may never see my boyfriend again!
Because my wife has an arse to die for and doesn’t mind me drafting. :)
I ride because one day I might be able to afford this.
I ride because I’m crap at running.
